In the 2022 Catalogue of Life checklist, the previous class Reptilia has been retired as a paraphyletic group. Recognizing the wide-spread use of this name, GBIF continues to include it as a pro parte synonym for Crocodylia (crocodilians), Squamata (lizards and snakes), Testudines (turtles) and Sphenodontia, so that it can be found in common searches.
